The first meeting of the working group on knowledge management was held on February 21 this year at the Nuclear Regulatory Agency in Sofia. The working group was established as part from a Center of Nuclear Competencies Kozloduy and its aim is to support the management of nuclear knowledge in the Bulgarian nuclear energy sector throughout the entire life cycle – new building, units in operation, long-term operation, management of spent nuclear fuel, decommissioning, management and disposal of radioactive waste. The focus of the working group is to identify the needs of stakeholders and to support their knowledge management activities, as well as creating a sustainable core of knowledge management experts for the entire Bulgarian nuclear sector.

The working group brings together experts working at Kozloduy NPP Plc, Kozloduy NPP – New Builds Plc, State Enterprise “Radioactive Waste”, Bulgarian Nuclear Regulatory Agency, Technical University – Sofia, Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, Center of Nuclear Competencies Kozloduy, Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Bulgarian Nuclear Society. Bulgaria is one of the few EU member states with such a tool for managing nuclear knowledge, including all stakeholders in the nuclear sector.
